Section 5
Ecological Management & the Agricultural Matrix
Regenerative farming and permaculture serve as the community's primary insurance against external supply chain volatility.
120-Acre Agricultural Zone
The community's economic engine, focused on building soil health through no-till practices, cover crops, and rotational grazing. Includes row crops, greenhouses, and perennial berry orchards for sustainable, income-generating farming.
4-Acre Small Lake
Engineered at the natural low-point of the agricultural zone. Serves as primary irrigation reservoir, critical retention pond for flash-flooding, and provides swimming, fishing, and winter ice skating for the community.
40-Acre Wooded Habitat
Acts as a permanent windbreak against harsh winter weather and a biodiversity reservoir. Through selective coppicing, the community harvests firewood without depleting the forest, ensuring a multi-generational supply of thermal energy.
